Antifreeze leak

I have just noticed an antifreeze leak under my truck. It's comming from the over flow jug. It's not a lot but enough to leave a small puddle when it's parked overnight. I have no heating problems. It's powered by a 4.7 AT, A/C the truck has 43K miles.

Just wondering what would cause this and is there a fix to it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you tell if the overflow tank is cracked? If it is it could be pulling in air and it will eventually pressurize. You have to find a way to fix it.

Also, if you have air in the system it might release a small amount of fluid when a bubble clears the radiator. Big of small leak amount?

I had this same problem on my 03 4.7 QC - only at 38k miles. I took it to the stealership - they replaced the overflow tank and rad. cap. charged me $180. told me it wasn't under warranty and the cooling system wasn't part of the drive train - so didn't fall under the 7/70 warranty. My feeling - radiator cap was defective(wouldn't hold pressure), but how do I argue once its done. If I had to do it again - or would have followed my own hunch - I would go buy a new rad. cap and try that. I still believe the tank is just a tank, only under pressure now - if the tank had a leak it would leak out of it - not the overflow hose. my $.02. I did not have a heat problem either, for a long time, but eventually enough coolant was lost and it happened - I had to add over 7 quarts of coolant/water to get filled back up. Those small puddles add up over the months.
