i just bought a 2001 elentra with some problems for about $400 and one of the problems is none of the gauges work at all, the tach doesnt work the speed doesnt work and i dont have the book to look up which fuse to look for and im not about to go through each one with a test light or pull each fuse to see which one it is, also since i have bought the car i have been driving it i dont know if the miles have been added to the car. will the computer catch that or not? if anyone has this car and the book would like to read the fuse section and tell me which one it is that would be helpfull.

Welcome to the forum,

I would suggest going to Hyundai Webtech (http://www.hmaservice.com/) and look up the schematics for your model. If you never been to Hyundai Webtech, this post (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=340357) might help you navigate around it.

Without even looking at webtech, I get the feeling that the instrument cluster panel is not plugged in to the ETACS. Most likely connector M10-2/M10-1 (http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/iindex.asp?id=394878701#_394878701) (those with the trip computer) or M09-3/M09-2/M09-1 (http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/iindex.asp?id=394878702#_394878702) (those without the trip computer) or the actual fuse blew (fuse # 25, 10amps (http://www.hmaservice.com/webtech/iindex.asp?id=394881687#_394881687)) in the passenger compartment fuse box.

TS out
