1997 Ford Alarm Problems

I just bought a used 1997 Explorer. I found out that the reason that it wont start was because of the alarm. I tried looking for the reset button but couldn't didn't find it. Also when ever I try to start it I hear a tick noise under the hood. I tried to jump start it but still no luck. Please Help.

I know NOTHING about cars but..... my Explorer has a "Valet" toggle switch under the dash. I have to turn key on, flip switch to disarm the alarm if it goes off. I have a 92 so yours may be different.
