1993 GP signal problem

My signals don't work like they should. I have to hold them in a funny position to make them work. What should I replace? In order to get the steering column apart, do I have to get a steering wheel puller, or is there an easier way?

Sounds like the turn signal switch is shot.
Yes you have to get a puller to get the steering wheel off.
