exhaust ?'s

i am in the line of buying a new exhaust for my 95 prelude i was wondering if i should go to a performance shop and buy a catback exhaust or if i should go online and buy a exhaust tip and go to an exhaust shop? what would sound better and gain more hp?

well an exhaust tip is going to do absolutly nothing for you. I would do one of two things buy a full cat back system from a good company. The cat back system is simply bolt-on and if you have simple hand tools and a jack and jack stands and a little knowledge you should be able to install it no problems. In my personal opinoin this is the best option, because my experience is that these systems have quaulity components mandrel bends and strong welds. The other option would be to buy a good muffler and take it to a GOOD muffler shop. Look for a shop that has a mandrel bend machine and have them bend the pipe and install the system. This will be a little cheaper and is still a good option. The choice is yours, hope that this helped you out some with your decision.

mandrel bent pipes are the best way to go, but if u need a muffler shop to bend pipes for u, a larger diameter pipe will make up for not having mandrel bend's, so if ur broke, get a good quality muffler, and 2.75" piping bent for u at a shop, i prefer cat back from apex
