top of motor

the previous owner of my aurora painted the top plastic piece white. why i don't know what can i use to remove the paint without diong too much damage

Laquer Thinner probably.

Rather than strip it, if it is not too thick, look
into some metallic engine paint. You can get
this in the original look metallic silver and respray
it. I sprayed mine because the original paint
they used had started to wear off. You realize
that laquer thinner will probably start to degrade
the material, and will definately strip the original
paint off too. It is black underneath.

Well, if you want it to stick, you might be better of stripping it to the black. Then paint it metallic. Painting over a couple of layers of other paint isn't going to look too good.
