How do you get the (LHS) headlight assembly out?
A rock busted the lens, and I started to remove the headlight
assy to get the water out, but after I got half way done
removing the grille it started looking like I would have to
remove the front bumper to get the bottom of the grille loose.
Usually I like Toyota, but a design where it takes over an
hour to remove a headlight assembly is just stupid.
They were so determined to hide the fasteners that they made
it impossible to get at the headlight easily. It should take only
15 minutes to R&R a headlight assembly.
For gawdsakes... it's a truck! I don't mind visible fasteners.
Make 'em stainless allen bolts if you wanna be fancy.

I always end up breaking or cutting the fasteners on the lower part of my grill. A real anoyance since I then have to go to the dealer to get replacements.

I'm thinking of drilling holes and putting in sheetmetal screws...
if I ever have to do it. Luckily the body shop is going to replace
the headlight assy while the truck is there for other repairs.
The main reason I gave up on taking it apart is because
the upper ones were hard enough to get to... the bottom
ones were impossible, unless I remove the front bumper.
I broke one of the upper ones, and decided not to even try
the bottom ones. If they were difficult to get out, I figured
I'd never get them put back in. As it was, I had to reach
in to the back of the fasteners to push the pin into place
so that they would fully engage. Had to stand with my back
to the truck and reach behind me in order to get my fingers
bending in the correct direction.
