vortec problem?

does anyone witha vortec have a problem shifting from first to second, the engine sounds like a leafblower on steriods..it sounds like its sucking in alot of air..is that good or bad?

what kind of problem are you having with the shift. the truck will sound like a leafblower when first starting off due to your cooling fan. S-10's have a centripetal clutch (yes centripetal, while most people call it centrifugal there is no such thing in physics) and this clutch makes the fan run at low RPM's so when you are first starting off the clutch has not disengaged yet.
