WTF that was crazy...

Here's a story to basically sum up what just happened:

My brother gave me a call from a friend's house and said he needed a ride home, so I get in the car to go pick him up. After leaving my friend's house with him in the car, we get stuck behind some slow-ass Grand Am. We have to stay behind him for another mile at least, until we get to a stoplight to turn left. So we pass him as he's rolling at a slow 30 (was some Mexican trying to pimp his ride) and we blow past him going about 60. We then turn left onto the next road and I look back and he's on my ass. So I think, "brake check + guy on my ass = new car." I get around the turn and go into the far lane and he tries to jet past me, unfortunately he isn't quick enough and is almost pushed into the curb. He then slows down, I start hearing -popping- noises, and my brother says "S*** THEY'RE F****ING SHOOTING AT US!" The car tries to get up beside us so I slam on my brakes....so does he. We then hear more popping, so I throw the car to the left...luckily enough no cars were in the oncoming lane and a neighborhood streight happened to be right there. We pull in, turn off the lights, and head down the street until we realize the tire is flat, and shut the car off and jump out. The street seemed familiar, then I realized my friend lives on it, so I go to his house.

He wasn't there, but his parents were. We looked out the window for a few minutes before declaring it safe, then go out to the car. We found a slug in the wheel well, and a hole in the tire.

So, now I'm home and kinda shaking. That was scary as hell.

Of course, they took a full report and said they'd call us if they came up with anything.

He also let me know that my tags have been expired since October 1st, but let me off because of what just happened.

Don't know what state your in, but if you can invest in a CCL. Some crazy people out in the world and cops can't always be their to protect you. I think you handled the situation pretty good though. Glad you and your friend are ok.

You are very lucky. That's the problem today, you never know what's going to trigger some wacko to snap.

I think I know the SpeedZone place they're talking about, but not really any idea how to get there or how far away it is. I'll have to talk to my brother, I think he knows where it is.
