My 95 cherokee driving me nuts. Every morning when I start it, it runs a few seconds then stops. It takes 20-25 tries B4 its stays on, more in colder temps. Once i have it started, its OK for the rest of the day, incredibly. Had fuel pump replaced in july, wiring harness in august, n computer in sept. Each fix worked only briefly. Brought it to Autospa in Patchogue in dec., was talked into replacing fuel pump AGAIN, and, $565 later, still have problem. Now they want to replace wiring harness-again. New computer cant be too far behind, again. Please help.

I agree with the sensors, would look into the crank sensor and or cam sensor and have the ignition module checked. These things do not always throw a fault code to the computer until the engine will not start at all and even then, may not show a code. Not really enough info to go on. When the engine is acting up or not starting , you should have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up and also a spark tester so you can narrow down whats wrong. I would also hook up your volt meter to the fuel pump relay to confirm that the pump is in fact always getting power.

Runs good when it starts, and it will start easily for the rest of the day, too.

HI, Have you cleaned the throttlebody lately. Do you have to hold gas pedal to keep it running when it starts? Could be the IAC valve Is dirty, Or sticking. Dale [email protected]

I would try the mass airflow sensor. does your gas mileage suck? Now that I think of it, I had a subaru Impreza and it started then stalled a few time. but, the gas mileage really went down hill. It ended up being the mass airflow sensor. it was like 200 to replace not too cheap
