Rear passanger seat belt will not extend - it is stuck. Any way to unstick? or do I need to replace? How difficult to replace?
Thanks

call a GM dealer and see if your vehicle had a seat belt recall. I know that Buicks had a recall on rear belts - maybe Oldsmobile too.

I'm having the same problem...is there anyway I can fix this without bringing it to the dealer?

I suppose you could buy the part and replace it yourself. I imagine it's kind of expensive, and you'd still have to go to the dealer to get the part. Unless you try to find one at the junkyard. If you buy the part from the dealer you'll have to bring the car so they can get the color codes off the SPID label in the trunk.

When this happened on my Grand Am, I pulled it apart and fixed it myself. The issue was the "comfort release" - it's a pendulum kind of deal that wobbles around to control when your seat belt should lock up. Mine had dirt in it, which was preventing it from releasing. I have no clue how the hell dirt got in there, but I cleaned it, and haven't had any problems since.
