jacking points

I have a 97 eagle talon tsi awd. Im about to put on a new exhaust system and I cant seem to figure out where to jack it up at. I want to put stands in the rear. Could you guys tell me were i should jack it up and put the stands. Thanks alot.

On my first gen, they're on the side. About six inches in from the bottom edge of the car, you'll see a skinny rib running from just in front of the rear tire, to just behind the front tire. This rib is on both sides.....hope thats clear enough.

Yep, about 6=8 inches from the wheel wells. You'll see a metal rail under the car, with a little indentation--that's the jacking point. Jack the car up a little to one side or the other on the rail if you're going to use a jackstand. And yes, the other parts of the rail might bend, but it won't hurt your car if you do it slowly ;)

should i just jack it up on one side and place a stand there and then do the same to the other side?

on all cars there should be pinch weld right behind the front tires and in front or the rear tires
