Happy New Year All...
New project for 2005. AMT - 1967 Chevelle Pro Street
It is being built out of box with the exception of a lowered ride height and the wheelie bars removed.
So far I have the chassis painted and assembled, body primed and parts of the interior and engine painted and assembled.
The color will be Duplicolor Cardinal Red and Black. Two tone Black top, red sides.
The interior will be dark gray seats with a red insert. The door panels and rear deck are molded to replicate bead rolled aluminum. I would like to paint them aluminum silver, but unsure what paint to use for this as every matt silver I've seen has sort of a metallic to it. Can anyone recommend a spray to look like aluminum?? <--- rattle can preferred.
Thanks for looking...

OH... The big blue thing sticking out the back is a pencil sharpener, just to space the body.
My 37 is still in progress, a bit slow with all the details, takes time.

That looks very interesting, canīt wait to see it finished.
As for a good alu spray I think that the TS-17 could do the job.

I personaly dont use these TS-numbers. I use Duplicolor paint, or rustolium. Rustolium has a great metallic silver that looks like aluminum

i'll be keeping an eye on this one. i finished my pro touring 67 chevelle, a la revell not too long ago. as for the aluminum. you might try and swing by your local wal mart and check out the color place silver aluminum paint i think it is. this is a pretty good representation of aluminum IMO.

Made some progress, almost completed. The body has one clear coat and has a little orange peel, but needs one more clear coat before I can feel comfortable polishing it. The humidity here has been around 80%, :crying: so I need to wait for a good day to spray it.
The interior I decided to paint the rear and door panels in the dark gray to match the seats instead of the aluminum. I tried a couple of the suggestions here (thank you) but still didn't think it would look right. I still need to detail the dash. I didn't detail the belts on the seats, they look wrong to start with, so I let them be.
The engine is finished, no wires etc. I cut the intake down quite a bit to keep the carbs under the hood. I will also have to cut the headers down to a shorty set as the kit ones hit the ground after I lowered the car.
Just waiting on finishing the paint now, next update will likely be a finished model.

After 1/2 hour shoe-horn'n the body onto the chassis at 2AM, I had to take a couple pics. I'll get the grill and rear panel blackwashed, install the motor... almost there :grinyes:
