How can I get more out of my 944 auto (3 speed) I have re built the motor and increased power to 200hp but the 3 speed sucks. Did Porsche make a 4 speed or is there a way to transfer the extra power I now have. If I floor the gas the engine revs up but the transfer is slow to the wheels. 0-60 is only 8.4sec. my suv is better. Is there a better oil or upgraded convertor I can get ?? What were Porsche thinking when they made this model. Any Ideas apart from sell it a buy a manual. Bob

Porsche states in their documentry that the "auto" was intended for "those who were not looking for the performance, but just the looks, such as our lady customers" (hey don't get mad at me I didn't say it or buy one) Wow 200HP must have been some rebuild

hey the 944 is not built for 0-60 most porches aren't they are buit for driving long distances at 130-160 mph
they are 1/4 horses: there's always supercharging! then
you've got to make sure you upgrade other things because of the supercharge! and also your suv won't run
130 mph every day for hours at a time it will use oil amoung other thing it's not made for that don't confuse apples with oranges apples can roll but oranges roll a lot farther a lot faster a lot more

Yes, if your wanting more speed, you might just sell that and get a manual 944 and you might prefer a Turbo as well...
I drove a auto 944 and it is quite slow...
A car that is somewhat alike is the Nissan 240 SX with a 2.4 4cy. DOHC motor...However, its much more spirited with a auto trans...
Good luck/skill!
What did you do to get 200 HP from your 2.5?
