CD Hesitation - 2005 SL600

On my 2005 SL600 when I am playing the CD or radio and the roof is either opened or closed just before the final moments of the opening or closing the CD or radio hesitates.

It is almost like at the final stages of the opening or closing of the roof top that there is a little extra power needed and this draw causes a slow down or hesitation in the playing of the CD or radio.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced that problem and if they haven't and you have a 2005 SL600 could you please try to create this situation and see if the CD or radio that is playing hesitates. The CD or radio hesitation would be just before the final stage of the roof either opening or closing.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

What exactly do you mean by hesitates?

When you're listening to the radio I would consider this situation normal. The vehicle uses two different antennas for the radio, one for when the top is open and one when it's closed. If you hear the sound cut out while listening to the radio and opening/closing the top then you're just hearing the car switching antennas. As for the CD player hesitation, I would have to hear it to know what's going on.

It is a 1/2 second delay in the sound. It is like it cuts out for that 1/2 second,

I had one other 2005 SL600 owner tell me his car does the same thing so who knows what it is but at least it is not broken so it is OK.

Thanks,
