I have a 1995 Olds Aurora with the ABS out on the car, which is tied to the traction control being out too. Has anyone replace this themselves? My Olds dealer has graciously offered to replace this for about 800 bucks. I saw the electronic sensor for under $250 on a couple of web sites and will switch it myself providing I can locate the item. Thanks, Jeff with an 95 Olds pushing 130K on the odometer. This year has been the year to switch many parts myself....(Water Pump, Alternator, Battery, Master Cylinder) and have the radiator shop switch out the passengor side plastic side where the trans went into it. (Pressure of the road bumps over the years made it get a small crack below the trans inlet)

well Jeff.

Have you looked into your rotator splint valve? These are always acting up, Most dealers carry the part and its an easy replace... Gooodluck

jeff, my guess is that you have an open speed sensor somewhere. i currently have the same problem on my 97. i have a open speed sensor on my rear driver wheel hub, which means i have to replace the whole wheel hub to fix the problem. however, once i do this, my traction will work along with my abs. i can get really good, i mean really good deals on these hubs. if you find out which one you need, email me, and let me know. i promise that i will be able to get you the part cheaper than you can. good luck, and let me know.

How did you test to see which wheel is affected? Did you bypass the wheel sensor? Where is this located? I do appreciate you suggestion. Thanks, Jeff

One last question. My Aurora is getting up on the mileage on the odometor, but the mileage in the city has dropped considerably in the last couple of months. I have changed the plugs, wires and air filter within the last month and still am only getting around 15 city when I used to average close to 18.5 miles per gallon. What is everyone else averaging on their Olds? The highway still will average over 25 with my foot light on the gas etc. Thanks, Jeff with a 95 pushing 130K miles which has been religously taken care of thru life!
