After Market Tach Hook-up

Hi, I have a 1992 S-10 with a 2.8 motor I just recieved a Tach for x-mas, my coil has 2 plugs in it, one with a red & white wire & one with a red & black wire,can anyone tell me which wire I hook the tach to?.......................I know the old ones with a conventional coil hooks to the neg. side of coil.

I've Read many post's on here about guys with aftermarket tach's....I haven't gotten one reply on how to hook one up? 92 S-10 2.8 Please Help

I had an 89 s-10 4.3V6 and I bought a tach by "sun" from autozone and the instructions had what I needed to install it. Now I dont remember exactly where but it was at the dist.
kind of lame reply but it worked for me.

hey, usually the tach does hook up to the neg. side but not always, try and see
