ok, so on a 85 crx si on the doors there is this lower panel thing. im sure you know what im talking about. what happens when i take that off. is it painted or what? because my front and back bumpers are black and the sides are grey and i want to change that and i also wnat to get rid of them.

You will end up with a couple of large holes in the door. Underneath the plactic side panels (exterior door panels) is nothing more than a door support frame. There is nothing finished looking under the panel at all. You would be better off painting your existing panels to match your car.

But, if you want to remove them you can simply peel out the red stripe to gain access to the screws that hold the panel on.

Ever notice the Ebay body kit? The picture shows what is under the panel. There are two holes covered with tape and the rest is stamped for structural rigidity. It will not be an easy task filling in the door, you will either need cut out the bottom of the door and weld in some sheet metal or construct a fiberglass panel.
