Alright I know this is a stupid thing to post in this forum but it has to do with racing in the streets so please dont criticize it :icon16: . Last night me and a couple of friends were out and we went to this place were we usually hang out at b4 doing some runs, after 1/2 an hour this supra fishtails around the turn u take to get inside the lot we was in....the guy keeps missing shifts and redlining the car like theirs no tomorrow. We tried to ignore it but the kid came up and started talking to us.....To my surprise the kid was 17 and he just got the car so I asked him to how much he spent on buying it and his parents bought it for him (a $36,000 gift  ). I didnt believe him at first but he started trying to tell me what he had on it (notice I said trying this kid didnt know what he was messing with) and when i saw that engine I was like wow (TT everything looked aftermarket), he said he was running 600hp and I believed him cause I reconized the car.... the guy who sold it loved speed and raced alot too. We just sit their and he starts getting annoying cause he wants us to race him (if we did we would stand no chance). I finally gave up and when I told him lets go he goes first and by the way he was driving you knew he couldnt control that car but I went with it anyways. we stoped at the light were we race from and when we were bout to take off I hear his engine roaring....I dont know what happened but all I remember was him smoking his tires and when I look back ( I was expecting him to be way ahead) I see this kids car fliped upside down.....I really dont know what happened all I know is I was on 3rd gear when I looked back and he was already upside down (I was driving my uncles vette). He was a little shook up but ok, cant say the same about the car though....that shit was totaled (gave him a ride home after that) so I dont know whats up with him. I bet his parents were pissed wrecked a $40 thousand dollar car in 2 days. Again this might not make any sense but I thougth I share what can happen when the wrong driver gets the wrong car. I know what its like beign in a serious wreck and I just wish people would consider their choices before buying such a serious machine......Yall tell me what you think, all I know that kid came out lucky he wasnt dead.

How the hell do you flip that car? He must have hit a curb i guess?

Really if you don’t know how to drive you should have to make a car fast yourself and not just buy the fruits of someone else’s labor. That way you will truly appreciate it and more importantly know how to handle it.

One of the guys I was with said he burned out and I guess he couldnt handle the car taking off with such speed so he spun out and hit the curb while he was sideways (just got done talking to the guy about it). Honestly I saw that coming
The formula:
HIgh performance car
+
Unexperienced driver
=
Accident waiting to happen

Wow, good thing he didn't kill himself. But I don't blame him, blame his parents, I mean how do they expect an unexperienced driver to handle 600hp?

thats why my first car only made 90HP...if that...and it had 4WD. (97 Kia Sportage)

If I would of gone slow like I was planning on doing that would of most likely been the result but I decided to give it a try.........and speaking of first cars my car was a volvo 850 turbo I got from my parents. Thing was zippy and pretty fast for a 4 door car (300hp after a few mods) my parents knew that but volvos are like tanks thats y I wound up with it :icon16: .

Man...how big are your curbs? I mean, I'm just trying to imagine how big a curb would have to be to flip a car over? You gotta try to do that. My first car was a Rav4, and I hit a curb bad and bounced, but it didn't roll at all, and its a lot easier to roll a Rav than a Supra. Man, that sucks.

600 HP feeding tires with no traction makes cars do weird things when they hit curbs.

I guess so. But even then, with the Supra's center of gravity, that thing had to be damn vertical on its tail or door. Eh, I never have had aheered to physics anyhow...I can fly like the Chinese guys in all the Kung Fu movies...

Perfect example of why my 1st car was an Integra LS. It was peppy, I wouldnt even say quick, but with intake and exhaust it made learning to drive fun.
And I mean DRIVE, not "get from A to B without getting into an accident." 3 year process until I felt I could graduate to my MR2 Turbo. Heck even when I got this car, me in a 600HP Supra would be a problem...
But im sure I could gather up the will power to learn how to drive it once before going out and trying to show off,... with a car I didnt even tune myself... wow...
Either way, glad you're both okay, I dont race anyone who "just got their cars" or look that young because what if mommy and daddy bought him a faster car than I have, and he spins out from infront of me into me... then I lost my car for a race that wouldnt have made my night anyways...

my first car was a 93 Buick LeSabre. after driving that, i drove a 91 Nissan NX2000, and then i drove my dad's 02 PT Cruiser for a little bit.
after all those slowww cars, i graduated to a 98 Mustang GT. i know it's a relatively slow car, but i didn't know hardly anything about cars when i got it, so in my ignorant opinion i thought it was pretty fast. i am ashamed to admit that i almost killed myself 2 or 3 times in that car. that's what happens when you open up the throttle on a car that you don't know anything about.
i've since learned my lesson. i drive my 98 Camaro Z28 like a grandma. the only time i bury the pedal is at the track, and i rarely go over +5 the speed limit. i wish all these lame kids that get quick cars from their parents (myself included) could learn the same lesson.

Lol, if I would have gotten a 600 hp car when I was 17, I'd be dead by now...my mom was flipping out as it is when I got the maxima when I was 16 because it had more hp than my dad's '97 'stang GT and her explorer.

I found it weird too.....I can't really explain it but I can imagine your car didnt have 600hp and a quick question did you hit the curb sideways???
Thats the only way I can think of that a car (specially a supra) can flip like that. :icon16:

The only thing I can think is he took off...started fish tailing...rearend flys out...kid panics and trys to steer it...steers it too much and ends up making the car go into a 180...the rear hits a curb...and flips the fucking thing over. Wow.

Hye where is this car from, I heard of some 15 year old kid getting a modded out Supra around my hometown(Just outsaide of Philly, PA) from his father, TT to I believe, hell I can't even pay insurance for my 5.0 Mustang his insurance is gonna be insane, and he'll kill himself, just happy everyone was ok in the end, but damn he kinda deserves it for being so closed minded, I mean how the hell do you expect 600 HP to act like a tame little kitty or like the freaking tire eating lion it is....I wish I had 600 HP ::Cries cause he drives a 1972 slant six plymouth Duster::

hmmm hmm hmmm. My first car...well van was a Toyota Previa...it was a beast...200,000 and still goin strong. I'm pretty close to that kids age tho, but glad that I got a stock car and didnt get a car with insane speed and/or mods...although it will have some soon...hehe. Punk got what he deserved tho, but too bad he didnt know any better. In fact, I drive my van sometimes just cause its more relaxed and feels safer. People really should learn from this kinda crap happening and know that...yes...I'm gonna say it--------> "With great power, comes great resposibility" -spidermans' pops
Speed is good, but make a damn good attepmt to keep it safe eh?
Ah and forgot to add...Supras are my dream cars and I will love them to death forever despite the traction issues. Poor kid?!?!?! Poor Supra. Dammit I'm just angry now.

I hope this doesn't happen because it would really suck.
The kid trashes this Supra, goes home, his parents are all "the important thing is you're ok but you be more careful next time ok?", and they go out and get him a Ferrari because he made the puppy dog face.
Hopefully that's not the case but if it is I hope he gets a few bones broke in him next he crashes to get the message through his skull.

lol, yeah for a 17year old to have a car like that is crazy but where i'm living now (the emirates) i kid you not when i say 1 of 4 drivers under 20 are driving outright monsters on the road. Too many rich kids.
A friend of mine just got his license 1 month ago and hes now looking for a car to buy, which his parents are gonna pay for. He's considering a ferrari, porsche or maybe a new mustang and believe me, he can't drive for shit.
Anyway, chances are the Supra was fully insured...... I still can't imagine anyway he could have flipped his car though. When i totalled my camaro i hit the curb of a roundabout at well over 150kms and the car didn't flip, it just bounced off the curb and went over the roundabout. I wasn't totally sideways when i hit but neither was i straight so i dunno. The supra shouldn't be very different I think, but hey who knows what happened.

damn thats crazy.
I'm so tired of seeing so many spoiled kids around my town and knowing I'm not one of them even though I finally have a newer car with air conditioning now. Kids are having parents spend $25,000-$40,000+ on their bmw's, lexus's, mercedes, etc here in sarasota Florida. Hell one guy actually just got a brand new yellow gsx street bike to accompany his brand new bmw 7 series with 20' rims. If I had the money they did, I would invest in 2 or 3 used cars and build them into monsters for the same price.
Fortunately I worked out a deal with my parents that if I take mechanics and driving classes this semester then they will help me pay for a used eclipse gst/gsx, thank god.

damn statistics are correct than. Teens who drive a high powered car have a 8% of knowing how to control the damn powerful thing. Im already having trouble controlling the speed in my cuzin's talon tsi awd, and that shit is fast. i admit im not a good driver but still, i wouldnt race my car until i got used to it first.
