If you look closely inside the headlight housing, you'll see what seems to be a projector. I also noticed it right away when I got my honda tuning mag a while back, but forgot about it.
Am i seeing things on the this '90 SIR? u?

Yeah, but what kind of projector is it? I've never seen anything like it before.

yup that's a projector, but it'd be nicer without all those lil glass lines blocking the light output :P

Actually, they're meant to give the light beam a nice pattern when shown through so it's not single beam of light. It's meant to make the light stretch outward more so it shows the road better.

Your all wrong, its the reflection of the lense of the camera.

It may be a reflection, but it's not the camera lens. The only way those headlights would reflect the camera lens is if the picture was taken directly head-on to the headlight... since the headlights are at such a severe angle to the direction of the photograph, I find it highly unlikely.
Wouldn't the refraction pattern on the headlights kinda defeat the purpose of a projector though?

Its comon for photographers to use two cameras in a shoot, the one not in use is usually hung around the neck.... about where the reflection would be. I think its a reflection or photographic anomoly, not projectors because of the design of the lense, projectors dont use refractors on the lenses because it causes major major glare for oncoming drivers.

Well this will blow your theory about the camera reflection. In this pic, how can there be two camera reflections that far away. Look closely and you'll see that they are indeed projectors.

they didn't make projectors like that for crx's or 4th gens
those are retrofitted(spelling) projectors into sir headlights

Thats what I was thinking too. I have seen it done before. Just fitted the internals of a projector to the outside or the regular light.

its a rhd car note the sir front end the amber glass and the lack of the driver on the left side in the pic of it driveing
and geek133 is corect they are retrofitted to the sir headlights notice in the last pic how the chrome backing stops befor the glass of the light so its usdm projections under sir lenses

There is no way that can be a regular projector. Look at it more closely and you'll see that the projector part is actually sticking out more than a regular projector would. It's almost 3D like and it seems like it's at an angle too.
Here's a regular projector:

And here's the unknown projector:

See what I'm saying?

jdm one piece headlight... I saw them in person for sale by where I live... I'm thinking on the conversion depending on $$$

they arent one piece you can see the join to the sidelight in the close up pic
i think they are JDM lights with the projectors backing modded to fit, but the lenses look glass so i would think they are EDM :?

there plastic, notice the lack of knubs
Civic Jim

my glass VT ones dont have "knubs"
and when i mean EDM, the JDM front end was available here but the headlights were glass not plastic hence the EDM not JDM, as those pictured look very much like glass and not plastic to me
