i'm not sure if this applies here, but i'll give it a try. we're building an 86 'yota pickup with a ford 302 engine. has anyone else done something like this? we are replacing the suspension and axles with something a little more heavy duty, but are there any other problems we should be aware of before we start this project? oh...and we are also changing out the transmission to match the motor. i guess i'm mostly worried about clearance in the engine compartment....have the truck and motor but haven't done the measuring to see about the fit.

I've driven toyotas for years and always wanted a small block.Problem is in Michigan an 86 frame is real weak after all the years of salt.I wound up finding a 72 bronco with a totaled body for 750.00 a few body mount moves, drop the 87 toy body on, done. The owner before me replaced the front axle with a dana 44. I fell into a great deal. I hope it goes well for you .
