My 92 Grand Prix starts quietly then starts ticking ,
I hear one pretty loud tick and when i probe the engine with a rod to my ear I don,t detect it anywhere on the valve covers or on the engine peremiters.
But its definetly audible at where the fuel line enters the injector dome .
What can you tell me about that guys?

Possible bad injector. Pull them and give em a look.

'92.........is it a 3.4 liter? The injection system on 3.4's are a little noisy when you start them up. Does the noise go away when the car is warmed up?

No it s a steady tick and its a3.1 and verry quiet when first started

the 2.8 and 3.1 always have noisy lifters
