G20 Trunk Struts

I was attempting to go replace the struts on my aunt's 1995 G20t, but i didn't get very far. I was at Autozone looking to pick up new struts, but the book they had there only cross referenced 1990-1993 models. are the parts the same from that period to 1995?
Haven't gotten around to calling an Infiniti dealer to find out the cost, does anyone know how much Nissan units run?
TIA,
-Chris

91-96 g20 suspensions should all be the same, if you feel kinda skeptical about getting those struts, you can go to www.tirerack.com and look up your exact year, make and model and pull up some aftermarket OEM replacement struts callled KYB GR-2's, these are cheaper than OEM but pretty much the same if not a little better. If your still not sure, you can always call tirerack and ask, good luck.

btw, if you prefer using only OEM parts...go to www.g20.net then go to the "oem part sales" link, and call either one of those places, i prefer infiniti of scottsdale, i've dealt with them before, pretty nice people, and they gave me the 25% discount, again good luck.

I think hes talking about the those pistons on either side of the trunk hinges that keep it open...the ones that go bad on everyone after a couple years.

I thought so...well anyway I too am a member of the trunk club. At least we don't have those huge hinges taking up half the luggage space, right?

hmmm...someone call an Infiniti dealer and get the part numbers for a 1992 trunk lift assist then get the part number for a '95. I'll do it in the morning if no one else does because I need some lift assists too. I called one time for a price check and they said $120 something each! At least the mighty-lift ones are like 30 something each.

sorry for the confusion. I meant the struts that open/hold up the trunk. Like that thread somebody linked to, the Autozone book only lists struts to the 93 model. before i bought them, i just wanted to make sure that all P10's had the same lifters. I have no problem getting the mightly lift units.
on a different note, you guys got some wacky smilies over here!! :bloated: :frog: :alien2: :sun: :grey:

AHHHH!!!! I called 6 different Infiniti dealers and I can't get a straight answer. Let me share my findings though. :)
Part Name: Trunk Lid Stay Assembly
One of the dealers told me all models with a production date after 11/94 had a different part. That goes with the part numbers I was given:
Part Numbers:
1992: 8443050J25
1995: with Spoiler: 8443050J29
w.o Spoiler: 8443050J89
exception...
One dealer gave me 8443050J27 as a part number for both the '92 and the '95 and said they were the same.
Well, it looks like it's okay to assume that the 1993 trunk lift will not work on the '95+. I'm going make a few more calls until I can figure this out...:silly2:
