i assume you're talking about the tape deck/cd receiver head unit. removal is simple. remove the square plastic piece that surrounds the head unit by using a flat head screwdriver to pry it out gently. underneath are 4 screws (on in each corner). remove the screws, then you should be able to pull the head unit out. good luck.

when I bought my pioneer head unit I removed the whole center console before I figured out all I needed to do was pull the plastic piece off and remove 4 screws.

Man, the brackets on the head unit were impossible to remove. I stripped 5 screws, haha. I just took a drill to them and then popped 'em off.

Go to stealth316.com, then garage, then find both instrument panel removal as well as Defroster Garnish repair. It's everything you're gonna need to know. I tried to link it but just had problems.
I was just going to start a topic bout this on 3si. I'm curious how many people have actually tackled this job themselves and what kind of problems they ran in to. I've had brand new defroster vents for over a year but have never wanted to mess with such a big job! :frown:

stealth if you talking about the middle vents that face forward. shine a flashlight in the vents and you will 2 a small tab on the bottom in the center of each vent. pull those up with screw drivers and the whole ting slides out. Then just unplug the hazard button and your set.
if your talking about the defroster vents you have to pull the dash board

thanx guys, an yea i was meaning the double vent in the middle and the 1 on both sides.. i need to change my defroster vents too, they were cracked pretty bad when i first got the car.. each piece is into 3 pieces ,lol i called the dodge dealer an asked for defrost vents for a stealth and they said they only have it in a 1 piece... and mine is 2... i wonder why that is..
heres another thing i would like to know how to get out... how do u get the manual climate control gauges out? i found some ones that are white and glow blue at night.

yeah for the center air vents i just took a flat head gently on the side of it and pulled it out slowly. Although for the side vents I had to take apart the dash (did that also for when i installed my street glo pedals for the wiring.. hooked them up to the dimmers) although thats only the right side. I didnt get to the left side yet due to shitty weather, although im not really sure how to do it either.
