So im coming home from NJ...Im at a toll booth..I have ez pass...and next to me is a subaru SVX...I never see them so i roll down my window and ask the guy if he wants to go... hes like ''Dude...Thats a camry...I will smoke you...'' So I go ''Wait for me in the booth'' ( His line was movin a little faster ) So he does ( There is noone behind him...) We both start out slow..Not racing... He goes '' Third honk on me '' I wait...On the third honk we go...He is pulling about 2 cars on me til about 50...then I pulling him in...at 70 we are even...My 4 speed auto shifts into 4th..I pass him...Im about 1 car on him and now he is coming up again...So i turn over drive off (Button on my shifter) and im keeping him at 1 car...I get up to 85 (Was going 75 in 4th)And turn overdrive on...Now im getting him...I pulling up to 100...im about 2 cars on him....then i slow down...He pulls up next to me and goes ''You runnin stock?'' I go ' Hell yeah its a camry'' He goes ''Im stock too!'' I go ''You wanna run again?'' He is like '' I got 3 miles till my exit...Lets go'' So I honk off this time...We run even till 85...I take overdrive off and its about the same...Im pulling 2 cars on him over 90...He gives me thumbs off and gets off his exit..Cool guy..Nice race...I woun't consider it a kill...

No offence, but you barely beat a mid - high 15 second car that usually traps below 90 mph.

And you're saying "Eclipses are slow" :lol2:

Yeah, but don't bring that to this thread. Just leave it at the old thread. If you want to take it up with him, do it back in the other thread. I read it, and obviously he doesn't know how to hold his tongue. Leave it at that.

As for ricesucks, I've seen those Subs and have always wondered what they were made of. Good kill. Glad to know he was cool with making another run. Most guys don't like to lose more than once. Late...

Wow...people must be in exceedingly bad moods this time of year...I know I went through my phase a couple days back with that SRT-4 crap...back on topic, it's a shame those SVXs aren't faster than they are, because they are really attractive cars...good kill.

I doubt your gonna get a ticket for racing from teh toll booth. The cammeras are set up to catch people who don't pay, not racers. As long as they paid, I doubt they have anything to worry about.

Yea the cameras are not always on, they just go on as a problem arises.

Well i gotta step in here because i owned a 1992 SVX LS-L for a while. The beauty of those cars isn't in straightline performance, its in the balanced handling and well-sorted suspension of the car. It makes enough power to get up and go, (230 hp, 227 lb tq), but they weighed in at 3600+ lbs...

Good kill nevertheless, just thought i'd tell you a lil somethin about the car. Theres pictures of it on my "homepage" in my profile...

SVX was never the fastest, but it has awesome styling. Nice to hear about one that still wants to play!

Wow, a Camry. But I looked up the specs on 2002 Camry and found it to be a pretty decent performing automobile, 192hp 209ibs of torque and weighing around 3351lbs. That is actually quite nice and would make it a pretty competitive car against the SVX and as shown slightly better in some mph brackets, and with a 0.28cd!! wtf wow, thats nice. The 0-60 times for the Camry are around 8.2 seconds compared to the SVX 7.1, this probably because of a wider gear ratio than the SVX (which still has a pretty wide ratio to begin with), So this explains why the SVX had the lead at first. What probably made the SVX fall behind later was probably the fact that it is a heavier and AWD tends to weigh it down further in higher speeds, at least until the SVX reaches really high speeds like 110-120mph. Just trying to add some logic to this topic, and to give some to myself on why my ride essentially lost. :iceslolan

It can also depend on what year SVX it is, since the 1995 and beyond weigh a couple hundred pounds more than the 92-94 models. But all in all it seemed like a good race. And it is nice to see a highway or just a street run for that matter where nobody was hatin each other.

This is the site I got my info from. (http://toyota.jbcarpages.com/Camry/2002/index3.php)

And then used this site to back it up. (http://www.askmen.com/toys/cars_60/66_car_review.html)

Cool story. I would have loved to be in a Camry beating that thing. But on paper wouldn't he be faster?

On paper yes, But there is a factor to consider...His car is a lot older..Im sure it was far past break in period...I have 40,000 on the camry...Not that i use that anymore!
