Hey guys im lookin into gettin a duel exhaust on my 2000 v6 and im just wonderin what kinda prices u guys have payed or heard, and maybe a good place to get one.

i dont know much about the exhaust people put on their american "fast" cars, but i thought flowmasters just made exhausts for trucks and SUVs?

no they make exhaust for mustangs to and actually now im not lookin at the flowmaster exhaust cause i dont like it, i did think the magnaflow one looked pretty good

Flowmasters sound pretty good on your 6 cyl. It may sound a little ricey in the higher RPM range, but has a nice sound overall for a 6 cyl. Sorry, never heard of the GReddy company.

GReddy is the pretty much the top-of-the-line exhaust for a import or as you Pro-American Auto enthusiests would call a "ricer" just thought I would clear that up. Are flowmasters considered good exhausts on (F)ast (O)nly (R)olling (D)ownhill .. oops i mean ford's

As far as exhausts go for a V6 I would go with flowmasters. They sound pretty cool, and most of the guys i know that have a 6 cyl. Trans Am have flows on them. I dont know why but most other companies have that funny, banana in the tail pipe sound. Try going on some exhaust company websites and listening to the MP3 clips they have.

why would you even consider buying a v6 mustang lol... all mustangs are is a cheap car that has alot of power when its suped but thing is... its gunna break every other time you drive it and the engine is good for about half as long as just about any import (excluding mitsubishis, and hyundai, a couple others) v6 mustang... cheap car. no power. everyone has one. will break down every day. must suck...

actually the new v6 mustangs are very reliable cars, the mid 90's models did break down all the time but the new ones are pretty good in that aspect, although it is true a lot of people have them... and for being 17 which i am i am pretty damn lucky to get a newer mustang, and we got a bargain on it cause we bought it at a dealer auction, if you dont know what that is its where the dealers get their cars, eliminates the middle man. what kind of car do you have anyway?

C'mon man! Get something better to argue about! Don't be pissed because your Prelude probably just came out in the '90s, and has no name, prestige, performance, or reliability, it really isn't our fault. Your debating points are really bad too. Four cylinders must turn more RPMs than a 6 cyl, causing more wear and lessens life and reliability of your motor. Mustangs were introduced as an affordable "sporty" car in Ford's lineup, and were unbelievably successful, so here is my summary: Affordable price, enough power(and much more with fine tweaking on this 4.0l), everybody loves 'em(especially chicks!), have been dependable for 40 years, must rock! :icon16:

another thing on that note, the 2000 mustang v6 which i have has by far the best power to weight ratio in its price bracket, and yes that includes imports

I'm not gunna lie to you.. the reason I hate mustangs is because hmm.. everyone has one.. and by the way my girlfriend has hated mustangs for even longer then me... and for the same reason... either way, good luck trying to look originial one of the top selling peices of shit decades in a row :) by the way... have fun in the shop 24/7 spending daddy's allowance money to get your F (fix) O (or) R (repair) D (daily) back on the road

might wanna look at the JD power and associates thread again, also my car has never had a problem and fords are not unreliable, the time were american companies built shitty cars is over because of the japanese influence so im thankful for that atleast, american cars in recent tests have actually been found to be more reliable than european cars

Hes just been watching too much TV. Too much Pimp my Ride, Tuners Transformed, and NOPI. How about we start watching American Muscle Car, and all the documentarys on the Mustang. If I had a V-6 Stang the only cat-back I would use would be the Bassani and I'm not a Bassani fan at all! At my work I had to do about every V-6 exhuast combo you could think of flowmaster, mac, true duel, non true duals etc..,
Honestly they all sounded tiny, ricerish and bad to me except the Bassani single muffler dual exit cat-back. This cat-back actually made the 6-shooter sound like a (stock)V8 and only got ricer sounding when you absolutely revved the shit out of it. Sound wise on a V6 Stang nothing touches the Bassani for sound and tone quality.

I have FlowMaster dual cat-backs on my 2001 V6. It's sounds better than stock but not like a V8. I paid $385 for parts and labor.

I think it's just the fact that most people don't consider the V6 Mustangs to have balls, therefore not worthy of bolt ons, like exhausts and stuff.
Personally I see no point to these pointless arguments, like:
1. Everyone has a Mustang
A: While it's true that Mustangs are getting more common, so are other cars. Who doesn't have a Honda Civic with a Fart Can these days? Since "The Fast and the Furious" those cars have sprouted like wildfire. There's probably 10 Hondas for every 'Stang out there.
2. Ford is not reliable
A: I've had mine for over a year, and never had any issues with it. The previous owner happens to be a good friend of mine, and never had issues with it either, only had to take it in for tune ups once in a while, and now that it's my car, I've been doing that stuff myself anyway. Now mine is a 5.0L so I can't speak for the V6 guys but I imagine it's the same, treat your car well and it will take care of you in return :)
3. Chicks don't dig Mustangs
A: Everytime I go by I always get girls staring at the car. I even hear them sometimes saying to themselves "Nice Car". It helps that the car has the look of a Race Car (Sapphire Blue, with the White Stripe on the hood). With this car it's so ridiculously easy to pick up chicks it's insane, you just open the door and they jump in LOL. Too bad I'm looking for a long term relationship, anybody have any ideas how to use the car to get a long term relationship with a chick? LOL
4. Mustangs are underpowered and have no balls.
A: Mustangs are low budget sports cars and are not meant to have huge amounts of power stock. I admit that. However they respond quite well to even simple mods (Like what I have done so far with mine), and are easy to work on, + there's so many quality parts for a good price available, you can buy the car, bolt on some performance parts, and still have money left over as compared to the next thing (Like Chevys or Pontiacs)
Also, I have killed EVERY Honda Civic that has taken me on. Every single one. I do happen to live in a ricer area, so I'm sure they were just 4 bangers with a fart can, but still, and I'm just making maybe 230 or 240hp at the crank right now, but apparently it's enough to massacre half of the ricer mobiles around my block.

nice post future. like i said im 17 so i know im gonna have this car for atleast another 6 or 7 years, so i might as well do stuff to it if im going to have it. its also a stick so its not to bad on acceleration, i have a friend with a auto and its kinda sad. besides with the right mods a v6 stang can get going pretty darn fast

Modified 5.0 liter engine puttin out 240 horses...... honda makes Naturally Aspirated 2.2 liter 4cylinder engines with 200+hp stock. hmmm it's less then half the size and almost equal performance (and its less than or equal to a GT mustang's price), I cant wait till honda releases a budget sports car with a 8cylinder lol... maybe they can strap a super charger on it too and call it the cobra edition thats just my 2cents.. please dont ban me

Hey "TheStang00" I suggest that you visit rpm-mustang.com. Some of the stuff in here is a little over-the-top, but overall, it is a fun 6 cyl. site to visit. Also, if you haven't(which I am sure you have) visited 3.8mustang.com, do that ASAP. People have posted track times, and there is a forum specifically for your car, so dig in! Hope this helps!

So your talking 290HP in a 2,756lbs car vs. 260HP in a 3,400lbs car and it can only eek by on a few tenths with 30 more hp and 600lbs lighter?
Also let's note the S2000's larger price tag.....

ok well u were just proven wrong... the honda engine is half the size but not equal in performance obviously, and its more expensive, those were ur two main points. also your compairing a dohc engine with very new technology to a pushrod engine thats been around for atleast 40 years, GTStang just close this thread this guy wont give it up no matter how many people prove him wrong

Ok so tell you what put an S2000's 290HP motor in a GT Stang and put a GT 4.62v in and S2000 and tell me what car will be faster? If the motors are almost equal performance they should be about the same ET right?
Or tell you what how about an S2000's vs a 03-04 MACH1. They are pretty much the same price and you still have your close to 2:1 cu ratio and both are N/A. So a Mach1's low 13's vs. S2000's high 13's. I'm confused I thought Honda made equal performance with 1/2 the cubes why is the MACH1 almost a second faster?

Ok, I'm a bit late as the mods have kicked into full gear, but I was going to say the Torque is what makes the difference.
Even on my Relatively stock 5.0L with 2.73 gears, I get Honda guys going "Wow, that guy can take off"
I can't wait to get the New GT40P Heads and 3.73 Gears I've been wanting (hopefully for the Summer) then only the top of the line Ricer Buckets will be a match.

Ok, I'm a bit late as the mods have kicked into full gear, but I was going to say the Torque is what makes the difference.
Even on my Relatively stock 5.0L with 2.73 gears, I get Honda guys going "Wow, that guy can take off"
I can't wait to get the New GT40P Heads and 3.73 Gears I've been wanting (hopefully for the Summer) then only the top of the line Ricer Buckets will be a match.
nah not top of the line... if i had an extra like 2 grand my 'lude would beat your car in a quarter by like 1 second. mmm forced induction

umm ok... if i had an extra 2 grand... thats exactly the point, he doesnt need the extra two grand and also what if he had an extra two grand? it wouldnt even be close, thats a really weak argument
