I have just attained a 95 4 Runner which was driven for 9 miles with no oil. I have read that when the oil pressure indicates a low reading, the fuel pump has a safety mechanism which negates flow of fuel. Now, my question is of two;
1) If the fuel pump is shut off because of low oil pressure. What are the steps when regaining oil pressure to engage the pump again.
2) Where exactly are the fuel pump relays located?

Classic example of why there is really no such thing as idiot proof most times lol..
The design of such is so it is not possible to start and run an engine with low oil pressure in some vehicles...cure?Find out why and fix oil pressure problem so you don't start the damn thing with no oil pressure and blow it up ...
By no oil...does that mean it just showed no oil on stick when checked?(alot will only be 2 quarts low and not show on stick)...was it knocking or ticking while running?did it shut down and quit or just not restart???
Yeah yeah I know...what a grump I am huh lol
Anyways all you have said is that it was driven 9 miles with no oil (so you think)Does it just not start now???What did it sound like or do last time it ran??How much oil was added to get oil back to marks on dipstick?
It is possible to start vehicle up by pouring/spreading about 1/8-1/4 cup of gas on air cleaner..just remove and reinstall air cleaner with a bit of gas on it and turn key(reassm air cleaner box 100% and do not leave it loose and catch 4runner on fire due to a backfire in intake please) when it starts be ready to shut it down quick if you hear it rattling,knocking or *tapping*
Let me know more and Grumpy will help ya...goodluck
