Hey everyone... I haven't built a model of any sort in years. I use to be very into them and rather good but I got older and then real cars took over most of my time and def the majority of my money! :iceslolan
Any way I got this as an Xmas gift and was pleasantly surprised to get back into the hobby. I was just wondering if any of you have done this model and how you liked it. I'm starting it tom.

Yes I got it for Xmas sorry if I was confusing..... I was just wanting to know if anyone in here had already done this model and there thoughts before I started. Here are some pics.
Box it came in:

What I got done tonight and sitting on the base that runs the motor and has the sound card/speaker that plays the sound of a running Hemi.

Valve Cover on wit spark plug boots in:

Head with the valve cover off:

Shot of the bottom end:

I would of liked to pay more attention to the bottom end detail by painting but I did not want any risk of paint gummin up the moving parts or rubbing against and coming off onto the clear plastic.

Well it's coming along good guys and I am finding the model very cool.
I'll keep adding pics as I get things done, if the local Mod wants to move this to one of the Progress forums that is fine too.

Yo, 'Stang -
No updates to this bad bitch?
One thing everyone who's working on this kit should watch out for: Testors bobbled the order of the belts, at least in the initial runs of this kit. There's a large, a medium, and a small belt. Testors tells you to use the medium belt as the flywheel drive belt for the electric motor in the base; the small belt, for the crank, alternator, and water pump; and the large belt, for a circuit around the alternator, power steering pump, and crank.
UH-UH.
You want it to look like a real hemi and actually work, here's whatcha gotta do:
LARGE BELT: Flywheel drive belt.
MEDIUM BELT: Alternator, crank, and water pump/fan pulley
SMALL BELT: crank and power steering pump ONLY.
More here: http://www.scaleautomag.com/sca/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9721
Also, there's been some speculation about the firing order/ignition wire sequence Testors gives you, but the research a few other modelers and I have done indicates they are in fact correct.
The rest of the model goes together very well and works as advertised. I'd recommend it without reservation.

Cute signature by the way. I was in your camp once. But things look decidedly different from where I am now... :evillol:
