chalk another 2 kills up

Ok, so last night I go visit some friends a few towns away. Mid-evening we decide we want cheesesteaks, so we cram into my vr4 (not comfortably as all 3 of us are around 6'). On the way home, we pull up behind a mid 80s camaro...without any exhaust at all. It is stopped at a light idling. So I pull up next to him and roll down the window.
Me: Are you trying to go deaf?
Him: No I just like the extra power
Me: Well you need it with that 6cylinder
Him: Nah man it's an 8
Me: You drop an engine in?
Him: No, it's the stock engine
Me: Buddy, I hate to break it to you, but that's definantly a 6. My friend owns a 84TA
Him: Your driving rice and telling me whats under my hood?
Me: I'll be happy to show you what's under your hood
Him: You aint got sh!t, put $50 down on it.
Me: I'll call your bluff, let's make it $100
Him: I ain't got that kinda cash
At this point the light goes green, or it had been and nobody noticed, regardless he just hauls ass out. I wasn't ready so I rush and bog first. But it kicks in, builds boost and I'm catching up damn fast, 2nd I pull even, 3rd I just left him behind...so I slow down, put my hand out the window and rub my fingers(indicating the money). He turns left and we return home laughing.

So couple hours later I return to my town. I stop at wawa. As I'm filling up a silver ford focus hatchback pulls up. Black vinyl star pattern on the side, front and rear unpainted white bodykit bumpers, gunmetal wheels, exhaust. So he notices my car and me smirking at his. So he pulls up next to me. I smirk again and ask what he's got. He just motions to the car as he walks inside (like I'm supposed to be able to use my exray vision and look through his hood while he is inside)
So he comes back out and I ask if he's turbo, he says "maybe"
So I shrug him off, apparently he just wants to look cool...which was impossible with the unpainted bumpers and star patterned vinyl, but whatever.

So I pick up a friend, we go get some beer a few hours later. We're heading to a party and as we are going I'm telling my friend about these 2 exact encounters. Well we are going down the same road about 3 miles from wawa and I pull through a herd of cars and emerge as the leader, apparently another car was following me. My friend says, "hold up, let's see if he's gonna go" Sure enough he tries a flyby. I wait until he's on my back bumper, downshift to 3rd, hit boost almost instantly and hold him. So now I look over and low and behold if it isn't the exact same silver focus. So I smirk to my friend as I just toy with this guy. He floors it and I just keep jumping ahead and letting off, finally he goes all out. I don't and let him get 2 cars ahead, and then just floor it, shift to 4th, pass him and take it to 5k before shifting to 5th. By 110 I had a few buses on him, but had to slow because of traffic. He ends up turning into wawa...again. So I'm hoping I see him again, to gloat a bit.

Maybe you should refer to your own rule #1...sounds like you were being quite the prick to that guy in the camaro. So what if he has no exhaust and is trying to go deaf? Hows that any concern of yours? That guy was just out driving around and you started trying to hate on his car. When I read that I was hoping you'd lose just for acting like an asshole. :rolleyes:

Regardless of how souped up my car gets...my answer is always going to be the same when someone pulls up and asks what I got done to it. and that's "nothing, it's stock" with one hell of a shit eattin' grin on my face.

Well I'm sorry I don't qualify for your stamp of approval. The kid was driving around with open headers which was obnoxiously loud and then lied about his engine. It's not like he wasn't asking for attention.

Nice kills. Kinda funny that you proved the dude in the Camaro wrong about his own car. You knew more about it than he did, and you weren't even driving it. There's a guy up in Orem, who drives a black 5.0 and I swear he did the same thing. Loud as hell, and really annoying. As for the focus dude, :grinno: don't even try to bluff your turbo'd. Once again, I was well aware of the camaro's power (or lack thereof). The driver of the focus didn't say what he had, so I raced him and won. I posted because I found the 2 experiences rather amusing. I'm sorry if you lack the same sense of humor.

Nova...it's called a 'street racing' forum for a reason. I'm expecting a 12.8ish the next time I run at the track. Whether you respect that or not, I really could care less, as I am happy with my car.

sorry to double post...but i was somewhat serious. you only live like 45 minutes away. have you ever been to any drag strips in MD?

I typically go to Atco in Jersey and want to venture up to Englishtown as well next season....I'm always down for a run.

PS. Last I checked baltimore was a good 110 miles from philly
