I read your post on the h23 to h22 swap and i have a few questions. the motors in but there are 2 plugs near what was the factory wired vtec plug that didnt connect anywhere b/c i was nonvtec. well thats plugged in but there im trying to figure out where the 2 other plugs go.. 1 is really small and almost looks like a vtec plug to the silonoid and the other is a fater female plug. i think it is blue or maybe gray. where do they go. Also since my lude is a 93 it was prewired for vtec like you stated and there was a plug going from the soilonoid to somewhere and even growned i think also i had a plug that plugged right into the plug on the fender wal (vtec one with yello and green i think it was). I know theres a pressure switch back near the fuse box that needs to be wired. im woundering if the plug i plugged in there already has it ran b/c the other 2 wire issues were justp lug n play. any help would be great. also i hooked up the one hydrolic connection for the clutch but i can remember how the other ones supposed to look. it is the one closet to the breather (im thinking its for the hydrolic trans b./c its similar to the other cable). Do you have a diagram of how it goes or a picture. thanks ..

heh you do sound a little confusing...

I also have done the h23 - h22 swap (although not directly I incidently played a greater role in it).

In matters of the vtec pressure switch, and solenoid. I don't think EVEN on a 93 you would have the plug for it - I believe aceshigh says the 93 is pre-wired for it, but i'm not so sure the plug would be on the wires, as - stated the wires for A4, and D6 are near the shock tower. but you might have to extend them or splice them yourself. furthermore you have to ground out the black wire from the vtec pressure switch to the engine block.

the only other plugs in that area (like somewhat close) that I can think of are for the thermostat SWITCH A, ECM thermosensor, thermostat SWITCH B, Thermstat Gauge (single red wire).

I have a dark bluish plug up on my left shock tower (when facing car from front) - I believe that is for an external TACH. (? anyone).

If you swapped to a JDM h22, you will have one extra plug under/around distributor area (mine is green?) it is for the THERMOSTAT SWITCH B, JDM engines apparently don't have this switch on their upper rad hose housing. (I actually plan on adding this to mine). USDM cars do, I believe it's a female plug - short it out with a paperclip and if your rad fan comes on you'll know which one.

i'm sure aceshigh can help ya more since he's got the same year of car.

photos and more clarity would help ((:

UPDATE: re-reading a part of aceshigh's post - I believe just the vtec solenoid wire (two colored) comes out at the shock tower - and it seems it does indeed have the connector) the other wire for the pressure switch.... is found near the fuse box..., if you use those two, the only other wire you should have to route is a ground - from the pressure switch to the engine block. I had to route fresh wires cuz I have a 92...

I apologize for the guide being confusing, it was written quite awhile ago. Anyhow, right after you connect every connector to its plug you should have three wires left over. (There should be no other extra wires; if there are, then you are missing something)

At the VTEC solenoid (the yellow knob right next to the block), there are two wires: a green and yellow (G&W) one and a light blue (LB) one. Under it, there is a thicker black (BLK) wire. These are the stock colors and will be what you'll see.

On the other side, the connector you'll need lies near the side strut tower (that big cylindrical thing found on both sides of the engine bag) on the passenger side. The other one is by the fuse box.

So to simplify everything, this is what you'll need to connect.

G&W connects to the green and yellow wire that ends at the empty strut tower connector
LB connects to the light blue wire near fuse box
BLK connects to a ground on engine or chassis.

If you need ground locations, just ask. All this writing makes it seem a ton more complicated than it actually is; connecting 3 wires.

For archive purposes, this only applies to prewired +93 Preludes. 1992 Si's and S will have to follow the ECU pinning path and run their wires through the firewall.
