I was looking at this 1990 Sierra And The truck is really nice, but it won't slip into gear. What could be wrong? What can I do to get it in Gear?

tranny no good. if you are getting it for a song ( dirt cheap) then you can afford to put alittle money into it. but i wouldnt buy it unless it was cheap cheap. no telling what could be out of the tranny. the pump, clutches , bands could be anything.

They are asking 1900, should I go lower? If so how much lower?
What is the estimated cost of a new transmission?

to rebuild is around 12 to 15 hundred.

The motor and everything is in great shape. It has about 220,000 miles on it. Should I just get the transmission rebuilt?

if you can find a good quality place ask around people you know and get a good mechanic and that would be the way to go have it rebuilt.
you can get a good used one but you never know what you are getting.
i would try and get them down to 15 hundred if you can. as long as you can get the tranny rebuilt for the same price as around here you wont be in bad shape
