You should just purchase a wiring harness for your particular vehicle that connects to your aftermarket stereo. There's no need to match up the OEM wires directly to the aftermarket stereo. You can get a harness at Best Buy or Circuit city. It's a 10 minute install.

Yer thanks, ill look into it.. would that fix it though, cause i know the cords are connected right, the cd player works, its just when i mount it back onto the metal brackets, the cd player sparks with the frame and the fuse breaks...

Well, if you would have purchased a wiring harness with your aftermarket stereo this problem could have been avoided. All you would have done was solder the harness wires to the aftermarket stereo wires. It's simple color matching. Obviously you would wrap the solder joints. You're probably getting sparks b/c a bare wire is touching the metal bracket and blowing a fuse. It seems you didn't do something correctly. You've basically created more work b/c now you've cut the OEM harness to wire it directly.
BTW, I've never connected the illumination wire in the 5 aftermarket stereo installs I've done. There's just no need to. Most installs just have you wrap the illumination wire b/c it's not being used.
