95 T&C 3.8 stalls

178, 000 miles, 3.8 T&C. Driving at 70 the car will lose power, unless you tromp on it and cause a down shift. Then you can go as fast as you want. As soon as you let off, to go a steady speed, it loses power again. It always idles great, never kills. The goal of this forum is to know what part is bad to save endless mechanic attempts. I've read the posts, but apparently most people don't record successes. Has Anybody ever solved this problem? It used to miss a little at 70 intermittently. I changed the front 3 plugs and wires a few days ago and it worked great for 150 miles. Now it is back, 50 to 80 down the freeway. Maybe it just got better from 2 days in the warm garage. Summary of posts; fuels pump - why would it accelerate well if it can't get fuel pressure (measuring at idle wouldn't show my problem). Plugs/wires - shouldn't they go bad and stay bad or why do well for 3 days then go bad again. Plugged cat converter - it shouldn't get better and be OK for a while. Brain box - too expensive to think about. O2 sensors - OK the light has been on for 5 years (although it takes a while to come on, and the car runs bad even when light is off). Speed sensors - cam sensors and crank sensors, if they don't bring up codes how would you know. Would these be intermittent? Dirty throttle body inlet, what does any oil have to do with stalling, what does it coat that makes it stall. EGR valve - I don't know anything about it. Fuel injectors - I've run several cleaners and heet through it. So what do I want from the forum - any insight from someone who has solved it would be great. I wish there was garage in America that would replace what’s wrong, and take out the stuff that doesn't help and not charge you. I know the car isn't worth much, but it’s great when it runs well. I have enjoyed all the advice I've seen so far.

i have the same problem and i found out the its a fireing problem with the computer it randomly does it and gives no warning. the computer has a short in it and its effected by static when the air is moist or real hot its gets worse. after several attempts taking my 90 to the garage and 3000$ later i still had the problem.

i went to a local junk yeard spent 150$ for a used computer and its not done it since.

Caution if you decide to get a cpmputer at a junk yard or parts stores once installed not returnable.

also check for any misfireing thats a common problem too caused by a bad wire or cracked coil.

Thanks Mufasa004
