Guess what guys. I just found out from BOOST DESIGNS that they will be releasing the intake manifold for the KA24DE in the middle of January. Boy did I get excited when I heard that.

Phat KA-T > Boost Designs.

The boost designs one is just a box welded on to some cut / radiused runners. the KA-T peice has more of a JUN shape to the manifold.

And here I was thinking this thread would be about a KA not punching a hole in its block :dunno:

some peoples grasp on matters are so clouded i wish it was only a box with runners welded then it would not have taken so long to get the research done or cost as much for the proto design. wish i would have thought of that before i spent all the money in the creation of it. actually its a forced induction intake manifold i designed for the ka24de with larger plenum design for forced induction, larger diameter shorter runners. should make some nice numbers actually but we wont know for sure until its on a dyno. but thanks for your support.

You're gonna like it here. :) BTW I meant no offense to you or your product and I plan on getting the intercooler kit you offer. I hope you lay down some numbers.

Or a Flow bench either way.

I know you spent your time on it and the build quality looks pretty nice but what I was getting at was that based off of what Ive gathered about intake manifold is that your not supposed to have a pleum with flat walls (Something about pulse frequency?) and that the Runners should have a fully radiused stack raised off the pleum walls. Granted if you did all those things the manifold would probably cost a hair less than the JUN SR manifold. So I suppose what Im saying is that the pleum looks like it could have had some more work put in it. I'll probably change my tune when the Phat KA-T kit comes out to $3300 like the JUN.

But what do I care. I have an SR :gay:

remember this VENOM has been building this way for years and they were the best you could get in the USA of course the Phat intake looks to be beautiful i wont argue that at all looks like a work of art. i am not a hater of beauty but how many people can pay OVER a thousand dollars for beauty?
my intake may not be for eveyone and if people feel they need to pay more for there intake then they should like i have said before its all whats important to the person thats buying it.

It still runs great. I still want to get an SR someday. Maybe as a daily driver.

And Boostdesigns intake has to be better than the stock one. I think its gonna be a great piece and worth spending money on. Kinda like the SAFC compared to AEM. More people buy the SAFC because its more of a budget buy and it works really good for people that can't afford to drop 2K. I wish boostdesigns the best of luck.

I wasnt saying that it wont make power... you would probably have to try to make a worse peice than the stock KA or SR manifold. I just think it could be better. I personally would rather spend 1000 on part that gives 30hp than 500 on a part that gives 15... What Im getting at is the Phat KA-T looks like the 1000$ 30HP part.

make a bet with you i f i dont atleast make 30HP i will stop the production of it!! you have no idea how restrictive the stock unit actually is so yes i believe it will do 30HP with no problems at all, plus my intake is going to be setup more for a daily driven car that still uses an ECU and requires the sensor inputs that are on the stock unit.to operate efficently. again this piece may not be made for everyone and if it does not meet your expectations then i wouldnt purchase it. i am sure though it will do fabulous!! thanks
