Hi,

I have a 1998 Escort ZX2 with 71k miles on it. I want to know how much you think it is worth, since KBB doesnt have any advanced options such as intake, exhaust, etc.

The zx2 has an Ice Man Intake, Borla Exhaust, Diablo Sport Chip, 15" stock wheels and 17" OZ Rims, Lowered w/ eibach/tokico setup, ZXtuner Strut Tower Brace, Esslinger UDP, B&M S.T.shifter, Aftermarket, Drilled Rotors from Zxtuner. The Interior has wool seat covers, Kenwood Head Unit, Polk Momo Speakers, MTX Sub and Amp, and a Tilt Wheel (but it never was supposed to come with it)

It's a 5-spd manual, came out in december of 1996, bought it in may of 97. Has a quarter size dent in the driver side fender, the front end where the fog lights sit; that middle grille is gone and the fogs are gone, PIAA fogs are in place for it.

I'd most likely get the dent fixed, the carpet steamed, and fix the front grille. How much do you think it is worth? I need 5500 to buy my dads Stillen Maxima... so just tell it how it is

Yea, i'd be confident you could get 5500 w/ the performance mods... I have a '98 with 50K and real bad hail damage that will go for 4500 STOCK. I've got mods too, but that's just the stock price. Of course, you'll have to go private, E-Bay or something, cuz dealers are pathetic, and so is wholesale. If you list it somewhere, just make sure you make those mods stick out on the front page.

I just bought the wife a '98 with A/T, CD changer, keyless remote, power sunroof and new tires, completly stock with 50K miles. I checked KBB before buying it, and it booked at $5995 in my area, so I would think you are not out of line, or maybe even slightly low on your asking price.

Depends on who you sell to and what your selling....if you mod an oldsmobile it lowers the value, if you mod a supra it raises the value. In this case I'd say it lowers the value. I'd pay no more than $3000 for it.

May have a point. I recently was on a car lot where they had taken in trade a late model Prelude, all Mugen'd out and fast as hell, and they said they couldn't give it away.

Point being, most people who are into modding want THEIR particular taste in mods, not someone else's.

Same with motorcycles. You have to be tasteful and use accesories with a broad appeal if you anticipate resale. If it gets to personal, noone wants it.
