Just Kidding.
During typical operation, the intake camshaft timing is almost fully retarded...
Here's a news article on the new features of the 2005 RSX.

The RSX is a great rice-burner, and the Type-S is even better. But I think that it looks too squashed at the front and it looks wierd from the side, almost like a Chevy Cavalier...
Hopefully the when the redesigned model arrives, it will look better than this, like an Acura should be. Not a Honda coupe with leather seats. Make a convertable version of it too, to compete with the Eclipse convertable.

Squashed? It is a sport "compact", after all. I don't think it looks anything like a Cav, but whatever, you are obviously an automotive design expert... :grinno:
The new 05' design is out already- Do your homework. And for the record, this car would look terrible with a convertible. If you want to feel the wind in your hair, get one of those enormous, overpriced, underpowered Boxsters. An if you want ugly, opt for the Cayenne. Thanks for stopping by. :thefinger
What? You don't even own a Porsche?? Well, then hows that Buick working out for you?

Not a honda coupe with leather seats, this car is a honda coupe with leather seats, thats what its supposed to be. Its like saying a mustang gt is like a v6 mustang with a v8, thats what it is.

You..son of a...
The Cobalt is a sad, sad effort by Chevy to break into the tuner market. Although, I do wish I had a gay, useless, seven foot tall wing that moved. American companies are hopeless. Need proof? Check out the NEW, much-hyped, allegedly revolutionary Buick Lacrosse. How hard is it to design a decent looking car, for Christ's sake? Or even come up with a good name, for that matter. LACROSSE?! Jesus-the Japanese companies probably saw that unveiled and collectively said "Thank You". Just watch, the new Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice will look beautiful, but probably be coal-powered or something. Maybe they'll sport a badass 160 hp 4 cyl. The only affordable car with dynamic styling and power on the market is the new Mustang...but don't get me started on QUALITY.
Rant Over.

Speaking of american car styling, dont you love the look of the new gto, i mean g6, or is it the grand am, or is it the bonneville, wait no...maybe its the sunfire...although from the front it looks kinda like it might be a squished vibe.... When is pontiac going to just come out with one car and put different engines in it instead of having the exact same car as different models? American car companies should try to copy the looks of the Japs, at least GM decided to do that with chevy, what happened to pontiac is exactly what happens when american car companies dont copy anything, they just make the same damn car over and over.

Well, I hope you are wrong about the Cobalt.....I love to hate the American car companies, but still wish they would turn their sorry selves around, since I still live in this country. The Lacrosse, I'm afraid, is hopeless. But Buicks continue to sell like crazy!! Of course, this is the country that re-elected George W. Bush, so what does that tell you?
As for 7 foot wings....well, at least Acura doesn't put them on at the factory!! Not to say that a lot of tuners can't wait to put one on themselves.
Speaking of......any tips on how to fill the holes in my hatch after removing the nasty factory/dealer wing??!!
Don't understand why people dis Pontiac so much for creating indistinguishable designs. They are just doing what works so well for BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, et. al. Guess they can get away with it because they build good cars. Not sure about that anymore either, as their reliability keeps slipping down - even below GM, according to JDPower. I like the GTO - but it's too good, too expensive and too conservatively styled for Americans. Has a nasty rear wing too.

Ok not to start a domestic vs import debate but I see Nissan doing the same thing as Pontiac...
the G35 coupe, sedan, 350Z, Altima, Maxima all have styling that are as similar to each other as pontiac and the same 3.5L V6...the same V6 found in the Murano, Quest, Pathfinder, Xterra, and Xtrail (the last 3 are bored to 3946CC). and you dont think the armada, pathfinder, xterra, and xtrail look very similar?
Granted their V6 is absolutely amazing, especially to anything GM has to offer, but my point still stands that they offer the same car as different models
and 1 more for the record...I can't stand saturn! for the love of decent cars make your own stuff! do you not have engineers at saturn??? there is nothing that is their own!

Oh, Saturn. Poor Saturn. Gm tried to create something new, something good from scratch and then they cut it's ba**s off just as it was trying to get going. So they were basically strangled for years and now they are struggling to come up with something. The show cars look like an improvement, finally. Hope they come through with the goods.

The interior uses a similar grade of plastic as can be found in Nissan's 350Z.
Both just need a little custom Alcantara dashboard fabrication.
The rest of the car is typical Ford.
Nothing super fantastic, but pretty good all around.

There isn't that big a price difference between the Mustang GT and 350Z performance. I know which i would pick as for similarities honda are beginning to use the same engine in different cars, and i see the likeness of civic coupe and RSX, Probably a stupid question but is it the same chassis.

Ford is subpar fun. My Mustang was damn fast, but built like a ten dollar whore. The Japanese may use the same engines in some models or the same platforms, or even similar styling elements. My point is that the Japanese are super progressive. Their designs are original and fresh and outside the box (sometimes TOO outside the box). The engines themselves are revolutionary. American companies don't seem to have the same vision, or at least to the same degree. They are slow to adapt. I do like the new Cadillac designs and engines and the originality of some of the Dodge and Chrysler models- but overall, the Japanese and Europeans are far beyond when it comes to design and/or motor advancements. I can't wait until Toyota and Honda start participating in Nascar events. Not that I'm a Nascar fan, but I think it will definitely light a fire under the asses of American companies.

It was funny, but cool.

As soon as I read this quote, I knew I'd find a few replies! :grinno: :grinno:
As far as the Cobalt SS, I think it looks sharp. It doesn't hurt Chevy to enter into the sport compact craze, but I sure wouldn't pay $20k for a Chevy! I owned a '96 Cavalier that I can thoroughly say was a piece of crap. In 5 years we had the car we had to replace the alternator twice, fix the A/C vent system, fix the rear breaks sticking, replace the battery in the second year, ..... This turned me off of Chevy and GM forever. Don't think for a minute that the Cobalt is going to be any different. The supercharger is just another thing that's going to break!
As far as Ford goes, they're not much of an improvement over GM. A co-worker just bought a Focus SVT last year and within the first month he had to get the clutch replaced, and get this, for a KNOWN problem with the clutch! :banghead: He's still a Ford guy though and will probably never buy anything but Ford. Poor guy!
As far as I'm concerned, I will probably not buy American unless it's a Dodge. Honda IMO, is a leader at making quality parts and cars which last a long time and so far they've won me over.
Did you guys see the pickup truck that Honda's making for 2006 - the Ridgeline? Man, they're going to get a part of the redneck sector now! :iceslolan :iceslolan :iceslolan

I thought they discontinued the Focus SVT for that reason- it was quick, but waaaay too many problems. I did see the Ridgeline. Don't know if I'd buy one- and I'd be willing to bet Biff, Billy Bob and Surly Joe won't either :icon16: . Nevertheless, I'm glad Nissan, Toyota and Honda are finally dipping into that market. Competition breeds innovation, and we are the ones who will benefit in the long run.

yeah, do what i did. go to the acura dealer you bought your rsx at. go to the general manager, and complain to him that they told you pre-sale that when you bought it you'd be able to mount the a-spec wing on it. tell him this was false, because in order to do that, you also have to pay $600.00 to a body shop to have holes filled. Tell him that you're going to file a complaint with Honda Motor Corp. against his dealership for false sales stactics.
It worked for me. My holes were filled for free (on Acura), and they even paid for my A-Spec wing to be mounted (I bought the wing from another Acura dealer). if you wanna see a pic of it message me your email address (remind me about this post).
any tips on how to fill the holes in my hatch after removing the nasty factory/dealer wing??!!

What does that post have to do with this thread?
Did you get an 05? IF so then YES you can get a A-Spec wing for it on top of the stock lip wing. The dealer is retarded if they actually helped you out on that one.
And if they installed the A-Spec wing that you were so decieved about and so wanted then why is it now nasty and needs to be filled in? You can't fill it in by yourself and have it look like new, you'll need to get in touch with a body shop.

I know where the Chevy Cavalier reference came from. Early on, one of the magazine reviews of the RSX wasn't too bigon the looks, andsaidit looks like "a Cavalier on steriods." Actually, I'm not sure that description is that far off.
