Funny knocking sound/feeling???

My fiance's A4 1.8T Quattro has a funny knocking feeling and sound right underneath the shifter column, and it makes a funny clicking noise when decelerating. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. :D

Go to the service , as i can't hear the sound or i don't know from where exactly does it come , so you'd better take it to the service... Does it make any weird sounds while shifting? I really don;t know how to help you in this case...

I'm gonna take it in tommorrow. Its only when you start out in 1st gear. You can feel something underneath, I'm assuming the Center gearbox or driveshaft, moving around when you start driving. It stops in second gear, though it continues to make a clicking noise whenever you decelerate. Really weird... :(
