What do I need for a Mini-Me swap?

I'm thinking about a mini me swap, I have a d15 block and a 1.6 v-tech head.... I dont know what the out coming will be, but I heard that it is harmfull for the block. somebody told me that the best thing to do is get a D16 block and build a single cam V-tech in my basertman and then do the complete swap.....
My question is, what do I need for the mini-me swap to come out it best? or you think I should go whit the d16 and the head?

your mini-me swap is very common,

I've seen how-tos on the net at many places,
some things have to be added to your d15 block, like oil passage or something,
the head swap is pretty straight forward,
it wont be harmful for the block, altough a d15 isnt the toughest block of all, a d16 base will take the abuse of the high rev more easily if in good shape

If you get a d16 base get a d16y8 base and change the pistons for PM6's (si 88-91) you should reach approx. 11:1 cr, and a si or ex tranny
the head swap or the complete block swap will take about the same time so its up to you

what car will that be in?

whoever said it will hurt your block is an idiot. the swap isnt hard at all. give yourself a day and have a friend help you and it should be no problem if youre competent.

very good write up:
