92 Grand Am problems starting

Hi I have a 1992 Grand Am that started misbehaving a little while ago. Not sure if this is related but I remember that I drove it from a friend's house 100 miles away on the highway and because of the pace of the traffic, I drove it faster than I have ever probably driven it (90 mph+ for an extended period). The next time I drove it, I noticed it hesitating a few times when moving through traffic. I didn't think much of it until a day later, I drove it up into my apartment complex and it just died. I tried to start it and the engine turned over fine but it wouldn't start. It didn't even sound like it was trying to start. I had thought it might be the end for the car, when I let it cool for a few minutes and it started as if nothing was wrong. Thinking this was a little fishy, the next day I came out and started it and it started fine. I turned the car off and started it again and it started just fine. I turned it off and tried to start it a third time and it turned over but never got even close to starting. I tried several times that night to start it with no luck. The engine turns over just fine but no life and not even a fizzle of life.

I'll try again this evening to start it but it looks like I got a real problem here. From reading this forum it would seem other have had similar problems and thought they were related to the ignition module only to find out they were related to the fuel pump.

I can hear my fuel pump coming on bit that does not mean I have good pressure.

Does it seem possible that pushing the Grand Am at high speed could have burned up what was left of my fuel pump? Thanks in advance.
