96 3.9L Fuel Pump Problem

Hello All,

This one's got me confused. (moreso than Normal).


1. Truck wouldn't start.
2. Problem traced to fuel pump. Not pumping.
3 Removed pump from tank, put on bench, applied 12V...pump works.
5 Voltmeter reads 12.8V on truck's wiring harness when switch is on
and 0.0V when switch is off.
6 Reattach pump, 12.8 dissapears, pump wont run.
7 Repeat of #3 above..same thing.

Any ideas??
