Hamilton Car Show (March 16/17)

It seems like quite a few of us Kiwi AFers are heading to the Hamilton car show next weekend (16/17th March). Who would be keen to meet up on the Saturday. It’d be great to meet some fellow AFers in person!

i was supposed to go into hospital yesterday for two weeks, but it seems they dont want me!
so ill probably be there, dont know about meeting AF people though, im shy :( :o :rolleyes: :cool:

obviously I missed those times.

Hopefully(fingers crossed) i can get there for Saturday only. (Boss is being a arsehole about leave again)

I'll hopefully leave PNth real early Saturday morning and either drive back that night or stay up there and come back early Sunday as i have to be at work Sunday afternoon. :( :(

I will defintly be there, dont know if it will be the saterday or the sunday though. hopefully the saterday, but if im working it will be the sunday.

Last years show was aswome, so theres no way im missing it this year.

I shall be there ALL weekend on the SDU stand.

I know the organiser of that stand (ME). Just come up and say hi, you never know it might be me:)

should be a good weekend, it was last year lots of good scenery:D (Darkness knows the kind)

So, SDU Stand, must remember which one to knock over..... :D

There might be a lotus stand, which Im sure Ill be helping on since I now work for the guy who owns it. Or there might just be an empty space with nothing in it. Depends if the Lotus god wants to go or not.



Anyway might have to go dredge up the old what do you look like threads to see what sort of social misfits ill be meeting.


And is there any interest in meeting up at say the new BP fuel stop before bombays first for those of us from Auckland? or even doing a bit of car pooling? (A GTR sounds a lot more comfterable than the civic :D )

hmmm, I could do 30mins to hamilton. But not at 9am on saterday morning. Can we say Car show traffic!

Last year it was pretty teriable, and it will be worse this year.


So the SDU stand it is. I might head down early, avoid the traffic. :cool:

the reason the traffic was bad last year was that there was an accident (not sure if it was fatal) just outside of Hamilton and most traffic was diverted onto another road in:(

I was the only FTO in a whole convoy of Skylines. Managed to keep up though! (go the FTO). Only problem I had was when I tried to floor it across the highway from a stop sign in 3rd gear (no wonder it was a less than spectacular display! :p :hehehe: )

So.....looking good for Sat...anybody still working on boss/spouse/etc.? I got the nod today....I'm not required Sat,so I'M DEFINITELY IN!:) :) :) :)

I'll know Thursday when i get to work if i have someone working for me or not.

Can get the digital camera from work to take pics.

Maybe need to get a cell phone number of someone as i wont get there till about 10am so i can meet up with ppl later on in the day. I think its about 4-5 hours from P.Nth :mad: :mad: :mad: ...haven't been up that way for years :bloated:

Well P-Man the show starts at 10am on saterday.

Ill be the younger (and better looking) guy at the LOTUS stand.
And im sure theres a pic of me on here somewhere anyway.

Next trick is going to be getting either an automotiveforums.com banner up on the stand, in the hope the stand owner won't mind. (thier not cheap stands) or to get some small fliers with www.automotiveforums.com printed out and leave them on a car. :D

SDU, guys maybe you could the same? just print about say 20 to a page on your printer then run a craft knife down them, and stick a pile somewhere on the stand?

times like this I wish I had an A.F. sweat shirt!

i wish i had ink in the printer, i would print some AF things out and put them under the wipers of cars in the parking lot :D

Well Iv printed out the AF logo in large and small format.

about 6 sheets of 4 to a page, and about 2 sheets of 12 to a page.
Its a nice little bundle. I used colour, but I did one in black and white, and it still looks ok. I'll just sit them on one of the cars on the stand. :cool:
