thermostat gasket for 97 GTP

yeah figures, i was just reading on how to change your t-stat, it says for 97/98 models you need to scrap out old gasket and put new one ini, does anyone have a pictures of what a thermostat gasket looks like so when i get in there i will know. Also, i ordered my 180 thermostat from PFYC, do i need to get an O-ring for it? or should it be on there, if not where can i get one

Our 97s have a gasket and no O-ring.Once you remove the T-stat housing you will see the paper gasket either attached on the manifold or the T-stat housing or on both.To remove the gasket get a good putty knife and place a paper towel inside the location of the manifold so not to get debris into it,scrap both the housing and manifold untill all paper is removed and clean and no gasket left on either surface or you will not get a good seal and it will leak.The T-stat you ordered from PFYC wount come with a gasket,so your best bet is to go by NAPA/dealer and pick one up.
