ok i had some problems with my slave cylinder locking up a while back. could not figure out what was wrong with it . ok i took it all apart and cleaned it out and all....put it back in and it still was sticking...so i decide that it might be the spring.. so i take it apart and take the spring out and put it back together without the spring.... i pump it up and it works now....why would the slave cylinder work without the main part....the spring...i have never heard of that before...this is a 96 eagle talon n/t....i have been driving it for 3 mnths not without the spring and have had no problems out of it....i thought the spring was supposed to push back out....i asked the dealership and they told me there was no possible way.....has anyone heard of this before???/plaes reply

The spring is just there to keep some tension on the piston. The clutch itself is what returns the slave and pedal. Not suprirsed it works without that spring, but not sure why it is working better without it.
