Panasonic cd deck issue

one of our company trucks has a panasonic cd deck that the guys jammed up by putting in not one , not two but three disks into.

I opened up the cover and removed the discs but now the unit will not take any discs.

it seems that when i try to load a disc the unit thinks that the disc is already in the unit and starts to put it down to play.

it looks like the cd mech is not parking in the right place. Can this be reset or re aligned or should we just throw the thing out and get a new deck??

any help will be great.

and no the company dosn't want to pay to get it fixed....
