Paint or glue - which order

Hello,

I'm new to this forum but have done a very small amount of modelling in my earlier years. Anyway, simple question, I've read the FAQs about how to get good body work paint jobs using spray, but... one thing I haven't got a clue about is in what order things are glued/painted!

I've always tended to stick all the bits together for the body first, like bumpers, side skirts and spoilers (if they're going to be the same colour as the car) etc, then painted. However, having read the FAQ and seen some "work in progress" photos I noticed some people just paint the shell first, then stick the wing mirrors etc on after. Is one way 'better' than the other?

Second question is quite simple, how on earth do you polish up the 'hard to get to' parts of the body work, such as vents, some split spoilers etc?

Cheers
H

I do it either way, it really depends on the individual subject.

I always glue first, so the risk of getting glue on the paint is nonexistent. Plus, you will need to scrape the paint off where y ou intend to glue.

For parts where glueing makes sense before painting, then I glue first...and vice versa.
