ok so today i was installing a new amp and two new 10''s in my 01 eclipse spyder gt...so i looked at it as some time to ''BOND'' with my little brother...so everything is good, it takes about about an hour and i am explaing to him what we are doing and the last thing i had to plug in was the rca cables to the amp. sooo...i am finishing up in the cabin of the car...i tell my bro to hold the two wires apart and dont let them touch...so what does he do? plugs them into the amp...THE WRONG WAY!!! he put red to black and black to red... i know the amp worked before today but now it just shows that the amp is turned on but no sound is comin out of the subs at all!!! DOES THIS MEAN THE AMP IS BLOWN??? i checked all of the other plugs just to be sure and eveything else that i can think of is fine.
your help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!

lol, but anyway back to the question, by touching/pluggingthe two rca cables in the wrong way, it shouldnt have blown the amp, like eclipsed4utoo said, check the fuse
also make sure that all your connections are made properly, the bass knob is turned up, setting on the amp, etc....this is an example of how you should ALWAYS DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY!! i dont know if you did or not but next time keep that in mind if for some reason the amp is fried...
if the amp is fried, take it back where you got it from and tell them that it didnt work or changed ur mind about buying it!!

and if you installed a switch to turn the amp on and off from inside the car, make sure its flipped to 'on'.

lol yea .... I rewired my whole system .... then realized it was a blown fuse it wasn't acutally blown it had just meleted so it looked still intact when i looked at it ... checked it again closly and shaked it and one side was loose .... sucked but system needed to be re-wired and hide better anyway
