Well, I finally got another amp for my subs.. I was using two sony 480's. (I got them for 60 bucks each brand new, I thought it was a good deal so I bought three, god was that stupid) Well, I just got a 1200 watt amp (200w x 2 @ 4 ohm, and 300w x 2 @ 2 ohm RMS) for christmas. And I just placed my order for a Clarion APA450 4 ch amp, (99$, down from 149$, 100w x 4 @ 2 ohm), and I also just ordered a pair of Kenwood Excelon KFC-XT14 tweeters. (79$ down from 129$) I was confined to a 200$ budget from crutchfield gift certificate, otherwise I would have bought other stuff, but after searching their site, I think I got the best deals for what I needed from them. My system will now consist of 2 12's at 200w rms, 6 6x8's at 50w rms (not 6x9), and the pair of tweeters at 50 watts rms. Once I save cash for a new pair of DVC 4 ohm subs, I will run them at 300 watts rms, and I should be even more stoked. Or I was even thinking about getting 4 4 ohm 12's and hooking them all up, which would require that I build a custom box, or boxes. What should I do next.. should I get 4 4 ohm subs at 150w each, or 2 DVC 4 ohms and run em at 300w each?

ugh

why in god's name do you need 6 6x8 mids, 8 tweets, and 4 subs? Jesus tapdancing christ, quit wasting your money and do it right....quality > quantity.

Why don't you just get a single xxx 15 and a nice component set up front with 2000ish on the sub and 100ish per side on some comps like koda set cdt hd62 dls ur6 ect...

My speakers are hidden, the ones in the deck have about 1/16" of carpet over them, and all the rest are behind speaker grilles. Besides the head unit my car looks stock as far as the stereo goes. Theres nothing wrong with 8 tweets. I want tweeters in the front because the stock location is at my ankles, and my leg blocks it, and the back speakers are set low as well, so the "stereo" effect is better with the extra pair in the rear deck. All Ive ever had is 2 12's. I kinda wanna do something else. I know its cheesy to have 4 12's if they arent even nice, so I was considering getting a nice 15" and that be it. How much is a brahma? Can I order one and ship it for 150$? I believe you guys about how good they are, but I cant spend a lot. So if not then I might have to go with audiobahn again. I know I can get one of their pretty good 15's and ship it for about 150$ off www.caraudiodeals.com

the brahma 15 itself is $440 shipped, plus another $3-400 or more for an amp to power it

$150? you could get a tempest, I think that's the best you're going to do for that price range and power/impedance requirement

Why don't you ditch everything you have and buy an RE SE. They're 205 shipped from RE. To power it get this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5740615306&rd=1 Its not quite enough power, but definately enuff to get an SE going. From my experiences SE's are louder then tempests when both in nice enclosures and off a ca600(m) The tempest had a little bit better SQ, but they were very close in SQ.
