Syncros going?

Alright, here's the deal...I was driving, had just pulled out of my driveway, and everything was fine. After about a mile, I realized that when I was shifting, the shifter wasn't going into gear smoothly, and later realized that in fact the clutch wasn't really engaging, and that it was going into gear when the revs matched. However, if I held the clutch in, the car was in neutral. After another mile, it went back to normal, no problems. It happened again later on tonight, but the same thing happened, it went back to normal. For a little while now, at high RPM's, like near redline, when i shifted from 2nd to 3rd, there was a small noise, I suppose a click is the best way to describe it. My friend who is a mechanic took a ride with me, and said my syncros might be wearing. He recommened Syncomesh. Do you think that the syncro was causing it to not shift? Or could the fact that it's only 5 degrees (literally) have an effect on it?
