ok, I have a 91 civic hb with a 1.5 liter. I want to swap in the 1.6, but which one? there are so many b16, b16a, b16a2, blah blah blah. I was looking at the 160 hp one, but now i'm all confused as to which one fits easiest and what the difference is. also will i need to change from a cable to hydro tranny? thanks for helping.

If you get the first gen b16a1 you wouldn't need to convert the cable to hydro. I'd suggest getting that motor...trust me you'll like it!:) They will all fit easy as long u have the b-series mounts and shift linkage(hasport, HCP , place racing) or custom ur shift linkage. You'll also need the ecu, wire harness, integra axles from a 91-93 and thats about it.

the hb is a dx and it has dual injection instead of multi. do i need to change that over before i do the swap? or do most swaps come with that?

The swap will come with mostly everything you need. Head, Block, Tranny, ECU,Intake manifold, exhaust manifold, fuel rail, injectors, distributor. Some of the things you will need is the B Series mounts from HASport, shift linkage and 90-93 Integra Axels.

B16A(1) is the one you need (according to US lore - it's really just a JDM B16A - but it's the one from the '90-91 SiR with a cable transmission).

ok- here's the break down:
B16A(1) - JDM SiR 1 engine out of 89-91 Civic/CRX SiR's or 90-93 Integra XSi's-160 hp, cable trans
B16A - JDM SiR II engine out of 92+ Civic/CRX SiR's-170 hp,hydro trans
B16A3 - USDM engine out of US Del Sol VTEC's - 160 hp, hydro trans
B16A2 - USDM engine out of 99-00 Civic Si's - 160hp, hydro trans
B16B - JDM engine out of Civic Type R's - 185/190hp, hrdro trans
i think that is them all - the easiest one to do (and the cheapest) is the SiR I B16A(1), that's what i did.....one thing that you have to be prepared for is broken sensors such as the TPS, and the Knock sensor. if the TPS is broken, i know that you can make the one off of the old D16 motor work....the knock sensor is $220 from honda...i got it for $80 ;) ....oh yeah, and depending on the trans you get: Y1, S1....that 90-93 integra axels might not work. i have the y1, and i had to use the 86-89 axel on the driver side...and the SiR one on the passenger side. later

hey dude...here is a list of common 4th gen swaps http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/4gtech.html
Here is a engine spec list that may help in identifying which is which. http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/engine.html
...and so far everyone is right..
the 160 hp one is the JDM b16a - it came out of 4th gen SiR Civic's in Japan...
To answer your Q about DPFI to MPFI - most (but maybe not all) of the parts you will need will come with the motor, but you will need to do some re-wiring to make the wiring to the engine and ECU work with MPFI motors (and/or VTEC if you choose a VTEC motor). The hybrid resource above will help answer a lot of your questions. I will be swapping in a ZC (1.6L) soon in my DX and will be doing the DPFI to MPFI conversion also...however, I haven't done it yet, so I don't have any personal insight to offer only what I have read.
Good Luck
