Hello everyone I just turned 16, and i purchased a cheap truck and now have some left over money for an audio system. I was wondering if u can hook up a 2 channel amp that puts out 150 x 2 rms at 4 ohms into a DVC 4 ohm sub that puts out 300watts rms. Would it work to put one channel on each voice coil? Sorry if i sound like a noobie to this but i gotta learn sometime. Thanks.

Give us a price range and we will see what we can do. out of the three you liste MTX and Audiobahn are loud but in efficent and, for the most part, have horrible SQ. RF is horrible all around.

the answer is yes. both voice coils accepting 150 watts at 4 ohms is just fine for a DVC 4 ohm sub with rms handling of 300 watts. I personally like audiobahn, because they are loud. Its true at top volume they lose a lot of sound quality, but they still hit very very hard with good SQ at lower volumes. For the price, there is no way to beat audiobahn. Go to www.caraudiodeals.com and look at their supply of audiobahn equipment. that stuff is DIRT cheap. I had 2 AW1251s in my car, and they absolutely slammed until I sold them with a 240 watt amp to some dude for 350$. If you want top volume SQ though, listen to what they say about adire and all that.

Audiobahn can be beat. SPL and SQ wise. the only subs to look at are the ALUM series which cost well into the $200's+ where RE lower end stuff, Adire Shiva/Tempest, Image Dynamics ID series, DD 2500, and many more are, for the most part, more efficent, louder, and have better SQ than audiobahn.
Anyway, the SX is a great woofer known to get loud for its price and still not sound too bad. even at high excurson low end playing.

Hello again, i have a new question now. I am curious in learning to build my own box and i came across this equation: LV= [(1.463 x 10^7 x R^2) / (Fb^2 x Vb)] - 1.463xR. I know what all the variables mean but i don't know what the "carrot tops" (^) mean, do u multiply? divide? square root it? thanks

10^7 is 10 to the power of 7, or 10000000
